Also...

I know I've been a little lacking in hockey articles lately. The Favre situation took over my life even more than the Michigan coaching search did. I've also been job hunting (landed a great one, so now I can buy the new laptop I desperately need) and enjoying the Olympics.

I'll be back to covering hockey in the near future. Thanks for sticking with me through the summer. I don't remember struggling as much for stuff to write about last off-season. The end is in sight!

Congrats on the job, Tim! Although I have no idea what you're talking about when you say you need a new laptop. I gave you a perfectly awesome model.

That laptop has done it's job, and I definitely appreciate the donation. Here is the current list of things wrong with it, though:

1) It freezes on startup. I have to hold the laptop at a 45 degree angle, open the CD drive, and start pressing F8 the second I hit power just to have any hope of getting it to boot up.

2) If you even slightly jostle it, it turns off.

3) The battery doesn't work.

4) The battery not working is kind of moot since the prongs got bent and the battery won't actually fit into the laptop anymore.

I think it's time to send her to the big laptop dock in the sky...
