Duncan wasn't even in the Hobey talk until very late in the season, when suddenly it seemed to come out of nowhere. He's a very good player, but come on!

Final 3 should have been Brown, Ehn, and Hensick; I wouldn't have had a problem with any one of them winning it (obviously I would have been rooting for TJ).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14201311.post-17720360899387026572007-04-06T00:22:00.000-05:002007-04-06T00:22:00.000-05:00That's a fair point about Ehn. I just don't put a lot of stock in the point total since it's against such piss-poor competition.

But he did perform pretty well in their games again the "big" schools this year.

I'd smile if Ehn got it. I'd go as far as you did and say I hope he wins it. Nice story and all. Brown's had a great year, but is it the system? There have been several goalies who have had years like that and not gotten the award (Howard, LeNeveau, etc.) I definitely don't think Duncan should get it.

I still think Hensick is more deserving than any of the three in the Hat Trick and I don't think it's sour grapes. I'm pissed that he didn't win it. But it's an absolute disgrace that he's not even in the Hat Trick.Packer487https://www.blogger.com/profile/04807642066292189138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14201311.post-78533931981074198822007-04-06T00:08:00.000-05:002007-04-06T00:08:00.000-05:00I have a little bit different viewpoint. Hensick ...I have a little bit different viewpoint. Hensick should have been a hat trick finalist, no doubt. The one that shocked me in replacing him is Duncan. As you say, is he even the best player on his own line? He's good, but Hobey good? Hell, I can think of a half-dozen players over the last 5-6 years who had better seasons and weren't even in the top 10 Hobey finalists.

Now, I do have to take some issue with Ehn. I think he's a worthy finalist. Second in the nation in scoring, weak conference or not, while attending a freaking US millitary acadamy is damn impressive. He gets up at 5am, does millitary drills, classes, practice, and mandatory study every day and still scores 64 points? I have no problem with him in the Hat Trick. In fact, since TJ isn't a part of it, I hope Ehn wins tomorrow. If you think about who Hobey Baker really was (a millitary pilot after his school days) it's fitting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
